I'm always on the lookout for more Bedford Rascal vans in particular - see here.

I found this van by accident when someone else told me it was for sale locally on Gumtree.

Cargo Blue Van - E649FLR - 02/10/2018

Cargo blue Bedford Rascal 1987 E649FLR

I received an email from a lady called Gillian back in August asking if I would be interested in buying this van. I immediately replied to get further details - I've been looking for a cargo blue van since I sold my last one and they don't seem to come up very often.

My latest aquisition is a 1990 Bedford Rascal unfinished restoration project. Bought locally (around 25 miles away) it will be fully restored using parts from both this one and the red one below.

Red Bedford Rascal

I bought this little Rascal on the 17/12/2016. After almost 6 years since I last owned a Rascal I have finally found one on the island of Ireland.

My old vans (I no longer own anything below here):

NIB 5021 - Ernie (exported Grrrr!!!)

This was my second van, a 1990 Bedford Rascal. This van was going to be restored as close to "as new" condition as possible. No modifications were be made to this van. This was a genuine local little van originally from the area where I live and still carries it's original registration unlike my van above. Currently there is only 76,000 miles on the van so it's quite fresh. It does need the usual front arches sorting out along with a few repairs on the rear arches followed by a complete respray.

E145 GVW - Bert (exported Grrr!!!)

This was my third little van - these little vans are infectious. I saw this particular van listed on Ebay and it was the same colour as the van I had about 10 years ago so I had to have it. It looked like it was in excellent condition from the pictures on the auction listing.

The van is in very good condition for it's age although it still needs a few things sorting out. There's no heater to speak of and that was very interesting during the 450 mile trip to bring this little van home. Ironically enough though it seems to have the worst starting engine out of all of my vans - it's a real pain to get started first thing in the morning but when it does start it will start and drive all day long.

I plan to keep this little van and enter it into local vintage shows and rallies. It will not be modified at all but it will be restored to original condition.

I don't know whether to keep the bull bar on the front though - I think it detracts from the van. If you're after a bull bar for your Rascal van drop me an email.

Suzuki Carry 2004 (sold but not exported - as far as I know)

2004 Suzuki Carry

I purchased this little van on the 18th of March 2011. I found it looking sorry for itself in an industrial estate in Belfast. I had no idea of its age or any other details about it because it didn't have any number plates. I left a note on the window and the owner phoned me a few weeks later and the next day I went down to pick it up. When I got it home I found out that it was actually a 2004 van. I couldn't believe it - I thought it must have been about 1999 for someone to just leave it to rot in the corner. It's in pretty bad shape and the engine is in the back in pieces. I plan to fit a G16B engine from a Suzuki Baleno to increase the capacity to 1.6 and give it a little extra poke. This van was sold to someone in England.

I need a lot of parts for this van, including; bonnet (might be repairable), bumper, both front seats, both rear light clusters and the rear engine cover that's under the raised floor.

L430HUR - 1994 Suzuki Supercarry

1994 Suzuki Supercarry

I came across this little van locally and just had to have it. It currently has no MOT or tax but it's quite a solid little van and it will be repaired. I originally bought it to break for parts but since having a good poke round the van it's too good to break.

E50TKE - 1987 Bedford Bambi Camper Van (sold and was still floating around on the road)

Bedford Bambi Camper Van

I bought this little camper from the mainland unseen from Ebay. The seller had been messed around by other "buyers" so I finally got it for a very good price. I had it picked up and delivered by a local firm - I bought it on the Monday and it was over here on Thursday. It's very rough around the edges but nothing I haven't seen before. It's solid in all the right places so it's really just cosmetic work that it needs. Click on the link above to find out more about it.
